Christina Tortolani, PhD

Christina Tortolani, PhD is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at Bryant University. She is also Adjunct faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.

She received an M.A. from Boston College and Ph.D. from Northeastern University. She also completed a pre-doctoral internship at Dartmouth Medical School, and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the Providence VA, Brown Medical School.

As a licensed psychologist who specializes in eating disorders, she has worked with children, adolescents and adults within various settings and levels of treatment, utilizing evidence-based treatment models (Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Treatment, Temperament-Based Treatment- Supports).

Her research, which has included several grant funded projects, center around training interdisciplinary clinicians and helping to increase access to evidence-based interventions for pediatric eating disorders. As part of this work, she regularly partners with community organizations around program development, training, and expert consultation.

She also maintains a small private practice where she works with individuals (and their families) on the path to eating disorder recovery.
